NN1950 : Allt a' Chaorainn

taken 10 years ago, 3 km from Dalness, Highland, Scotland

Allt a' Chaorainn
Allt a' Chaorainn
After the hectic descent of the steep creek above (for which this water level or a bit less is almost perfect), the lower part of Allt a' Chaorainn offers a different sort of difficulty in that there really isn't enough water to paddle down over the granite cobbles to the confluence with the River Etive. However, there is just about enough here to make the paddle less effort than carrying the boats and despite a bit of thrutching and knuckle bashing, it only took three or four minutes to reach the Etive right bank and a quick climb out to the vehicle.
