Rowntree Park, York
The 30-acre park on the banks of the River Ouse, was a gift to the City of York by Messrs Rowntree & 1921 and is a memorial to the Cocoa Works staff who fell and suffered during World War 1.

Gates off Terry Avenue are in memory of those who fell in World War II. Bronze plaques mark both occasions within the Lych Gate (on the right). The building on the left is Rowntree Park Reading Cafe - part of the city's library service.

The park underwent a 1.8million refurbishment, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
