Bridge End
Bridge End
As near as possible, this replicates the scene painted by Lowry in 1938 NT9952 : The Lowry Trail - point 10 Bridge End. Notable buildings visible include the Town Hall, an old granary in Eastern Lane (high red roofed building to the right of the Town Hall) and the "Home of the Original Berwick Cockles" (the boarded-up shop window on the junction). Berwick Cockles were mild peppermint-flavoured sweets which were made on the premises.
