Mystic Woodland Figures in Tring Park
Mystic Woodland Figures in Tring Park
During the "Fun in the Park" day organised by the Woodland Trust, the Court Youth Theatre put on a show about woods, under the lime trees. It involved these three cloaked figures (elves?).

Tring Park
Tring Park is the former grounds of The Mansion in Tring, which has had several owners including Sir William Gore, Lord Mayor of London; Sir Drummond Smith, a London banker and from 1823 William Kay, a Manchester textile magnate. In 1872 Lionel de Rothschild, who had been leasing it since 1838, bought it as a wedding present for his son, Nathaniel who later founded the famous Zoological Museum that still survives next door to the mansion and is now part of the Natural History Museum.
The park was laid out in the style of Capability Brown during Drummond Smith's tenancy. The park is now owned by Dacorum Borough Council and has been maintained by the Woodland Trust since 1993 LinkExternal link and LinkExternal link
Tring 700th anniversary of charter :: SP9211
Tring officially became a town on 13th July 1315 with the granting of a charter by King Edward II.
The following year a ten day feast was held to celebrate the town's new status - this commenced on 29th June 1316.
By a conflation of these dates, the 700th anniversary of the charter was celebrated a fortnight earlier than it really should have been, on 29th June 2015.
Various events took place in and around the town and the church bells were rung for several hours. There was a service in the church and a beer tent and barbecue in the church grounds. The local knitters "yarn bombed" Church Square as can be seen from several of the photos.
