Hyde Park - The Serpentine
Hyde Park - The Serpentine
Ducks and swans gather near the edge of The Serpentine in Hyde Park. The bridge seen ahead is Serpentine Bridge which carries a park road across the lake - in fact it marks the western extent of the Serpentine itself, as the continuation of the lake to the west into Kensington Gardens, is properly called The Long Water.
The Serpentine was created in 1730 for George II's wife, Queen Caroline of Ansbach and extends to about 40 acres (including "The Long Water").
The Serpentine

The Serpentine (also known as the Serpentine River) is a 28-acre (11 hectare) recreational lake in Hyde Park, London, created in 1730
