Running more or less straight up the middle of this picture is the contact between the Upper Devonian Mylor Slate (black, on the left) and the Lithium Mica Granite of the Tregonning-Godolphin series (pinkish, on the right). This is part of the Cornubian Permian Granite batholith which outcrops in many places throughout Cornwall.
The whole of this cove is a SSSI, and whilst it's of significant geological interest, no hammering or collecting of specimens is permitted, due to that designation.
