Wansford Signal Box and Crossing
Wansford Signal Box and Crossing
This preserved signal box was built by the London & North Western Railway and opened on 28 April 1907. Until 1959, when the road was dualled and diverted to cross the railway on a bridge to the west of Wansford station, when these gates closed traffic on the A1 - The Great North Road - came to a standstill.
