The present church of St Giles was designed in 1875 by T.H. & F. Healey of Bradford, incorporating two fragments of the old church which dated from the 12th century and according to the inscription on the lamp in the foreground TL4459 : Garden of St Giles' Church, Chesterton Lane to around 1092.
