Wroxham Bridge
Wroxham Bridge
Wroxham Bridge was rebuilt in brick and stone in 1619 where the Norwich Road crosses the River Bure joining Wroxham with Hoverton. It is widely considered LinkExternal link to be the second most difficult bridge on the Broads to navigate (after Potter Heigham) due to its low headroom and its arched build which severely restricts passage through.

Wroxham Bridge is a protected as a scheduled ancient monument (LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) Wroxham Conservation Area).
River Bure

The River Bure rises near Melton Constable, 11 miles upstream of Aylsham, which was the original head of navigation. Most of its length lies within the Norfolk Broads. Nowadays, the head of navigation is 10 miles downstream at Coltishall Bridge and it flows to Great Yarmouth where it meets Breydon Water and flows into the sea at Gorleston.
