Heavy rain on the Lake District fells and lower parts of Cumbria have swollen the river. All rock in the river bed is completely submerged as is the fish ladder SD5086 : Photographing the fish ladder Three weeks earlier it was possible to stand on shingle below the falls SD5086 : Levens Force, River Kent but today this was completely out of the question.
