109-112 Eaton Square
The centre of this terrace TQ2879 : 103-118 Eaton Square has Corinthian columns and pilasters for emphasis. Each house has a fluted Greek Doric porch. Grade II* listed.
Eaton Square is a square in name only. For one thing, it is an elongated rectangle. For another, it is too big to lend much sense of enclosure - a main road runs through it lengthwise, the houses lying back behind gardens and access roads - and its architecture is inconsistent due to continuing building over around twenty-five years. None of that negates its impressive set-pieces and its status as one of London's most expensive addresses.
By my reckoning, on the extreme left of this image Basher has captured the steps up to number 46, from which address Lord Lucan disappeared 40 years ago today.
