A Christmas tree in front of the often pictured C15 "Guildhall", Thaxted. In the background can be seen the spire of the parish church.
According to the Guildhall website "Current thinking believes that the building was NOT built by the Guild of Cutlers six hundred years ago around 1390 ... it was built sometime between 1462 and 1475... Also it is not really a Guildhall as the design is more of a moote or mote hall." Link
