Budloy farm
Lovely old farmhouse with roses round the door and fig tree (left) but dilapidated and unoccupied - seems to have been replaced by a modern dwelling close by. It would be a pity if this is not saved by sympathetic restoration.
I have been informed, by his son, that this is the birthplace of Professor Thomas James Jenkin (1885-1965) C.B.E., D.Sc. Director of the Welsh Plant Breeding Station and Professor of Agricultural Botany in Aberystwyth. He was the first man in the world to succeed in artificially hybridizing grasses and is particularly remembered for his ryegrass "S23". See
