More rain is on its way - Storm Eva.
The Met Office extended an Amber Warning, originally for Cumbria and the North West, to include large parts of North Yorkshire. There are several flood warnings in place, meaning action is required as Storm Eva hits the UK. Heavy rain through Christmas Day afternoon and overnight, occurring on already saturated ground, led to high river levels across the north east. It’s expected rain will continue throughout Boxing Day.
