"Amaze", Digital Art Installation at MediaCityUK
In December 2015, Salford Quays and MediaCityUK played host to a series of digital art installations with Lightwaves 2015 showcasing the work of international artists until December 24th (unfortunately severe weather in the North West of England necessitated the early closure of this event which had originally been scheduled to run until 27th December).
This installation, at the MediaCityUK Piazza, is titled “Amaze” and is by Icelandic based artist Marcos Zotes. The Quays Culture website Link
(Archive Link
) describes it as “a psychedelic maze where magical moments, both private and collective, await those who enter”.
The festival was created to celebrate UNESCO's International Year of Light and was backed by AGMA and Arts Council England. Amongst the other installation was SJ8097 : Lightwave Installation, Lowry Plaza.

Quays Culture - Lightwaves
Lightwaves claims to be the UK’s largest free outdoor digital art light show. The annual festival, hosted by Quays Culture, showcases an eclectic programme of digital light art, taking over public spaces in Salford Quays and MediaCityUK each December. Each year, Lightwaves features new and exclusively commissioned digital art displays alongside tableaux borrowed from the Blackpool Illuminations.
