taken 11 years ago, 3 km from Rockley, Wiltshire, England

Bowl barrow, south-east of Barbury Castle Farm
Bowl barrow, south-east of Barbury Castle Farm
Bronze Age bowl barrow, Scheduled Monument No. 12210. The barrow mound stands to a height of 2 metres. A hollow in the centre of the mound, 0.4m deep, suggests antiquarian exploration of the site, probably in the 19th century. Surrounding the barrow is a ditch from which material was quarried during construction of the mound. LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link )
