When I wrote about this building site in June 2014 (SZ0891 : Bournemouth: some large-scale development activity) I said it was hoped that the Hilton would open in 2016. In fact, it opened at the end of November 2015.
This very distinctive new instalment to the town's skyline occupies what was a vacant, steeply sloping plot on the corner of Terrace, Exeter and Cranborne Roads.
Just sneaking into the top right of the picture is the end of a crane, part of another major building site on the former NCP car park, the site of the town's bus station which burned down in the 1970s.
