Isaac's Hearse House Reborn
Isaac's Hearse House Reborn
The old hearse house built to keep Isaac Holden's gift of a hearse for the folk of the West Allen has been fully restored. This has been with the help of the Allen Valleys Landscapes Project - an HLF funded venture to preserve the heritage. The old horse drawn hearse has long since gone. The building will now have a continued role as a community asset providing a shelter with interpretive information for walkers doing Isaac's Tea Trail. From being a historic building at risk of collapse it has been saved and ranks among the best preserved hearse houses to be found anywhere.
