taken 8 years ago, near to London City Airport, Newham, England

The Thames at sunset from Thames Barrier Park
The Thames at sunset from Thames Barrier Park
This view is from Thames Barrier Park on the Silvertown side of the River Thames. Thames Barrier Park was built on what was one of the country's most polluted sites, the former P R Chemicals factory. Described as 'the first riverside park to be built in London for over 50 years' the Thames Barrier Park was opened in 2000. For a little more information see LinkExternal link

For a photograph of the Thames Barrier taken at the same time and looking in the other direction see Link

This was a bitterly cold day as the sun set - the coldest day since the previous winter.
