Tadcaster Bridge
After the flood the underside of the bridge is now visible. The central two spans of the newer upstream bridge have collapsed, but the older bridge has survived. Until the collapse it wasn't immediately apparent that there were effectively two bridges alongside where the old bridge had been widened.

A tricky reconstruction job to preserve the historical nature of the crossing and ensure the bridge can fulfil its purpose for many years to come got under way after this picture was taken. It is explained here by the Institution of Civil Engineers: LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) .
