'The Earl of Pitt Street'
Refurbished bar with upstairs restaurant on corner of Pitt Street and Spring Garden Lane, opened by one of the city’s best known restaurateurs and founder of Newcastle’s Electric East, Mark Lagun. This was formerly The Greyhound public house NZ2364 : The Greyhound, which had connections to the notorious Newcastle criminal family of John Henry Sayers who was jailed for 15 years after a violent Ł350,000 robbery on the Pritchard’s security firm in Gateshead in 1989.
