Dilapidated Nissen hut
A number of very dilapidated and overgrown Nissen huts can still be found on RAF Thorpe Abbott's Site 6, one of the aerodrome's accommodation sites. For some time after the war these huts were used by families who had lost their homes. RAF Thorpe Abbotts was an active airfield during the war.
