Hengistbury Head: the breakwater seen over rough seas
Hengistbury Head: the breakwater seen over rough seas
Looking along the shore below Hengistbury Head on the approach to the breakwater at the end of Poole Bay. A highish tide means that only the beacon and an interrupted line of the upper boulders is visible just now.

In the background is the unmistakable shape of The Needles, at the western tip of the Isle of Wight.
