Pymme's Brook in Arnos Park under the Piccadilly line
Pymme's Brook is named after William Pymme, a local land owner. The brook rises in Hadley Wood and flows in a south-easterly direction to merge with the River Lee Navigation at Tottenham. It is seen here at the western end of Arnos Park where it passes under the Piccadilly line viaduct. Much of the route, including here, is followed by the Pymmes Brook Trail. See Link
for more information.
Arnos Park was purchased from Lord Inverforth in 1928, just before the Piccadilly line was extended across it on a viaduct, starting services on 13th March 1933. As can be seen here, the viaduct crosses the Pymme's Brook which passes right through the park.
