Just to add to the NY9364 : “Multi-coloured mayhem” (© The Hexham Courant), Northumberland County Council (NCC) has put up some revised car park maps which indicate that the Loosing Hill car park – Area 9 – is not available.

The NCC also thought that they should take the opportunity to clear up any possible confusion about the car parking regulations by re-numbering most of the 14 car parking areas on the older maps that can be found next to the parking disc dispensers.

So: Areas 1 and 2 on the new map are the same as on the old one.

What was Area 3 is now Area 4, what was Area 4 is now Area 5, what was Area 5 is now Area 6, and what was Area 6 is now … Area 8 (gotcha!).

Area 7 on the new map is the same as on the old one.

What was Area 8 is now Area 3.

Area 10 on the new map is the same as on the old one.

What was Area 11 (contiguous with Area 10) is now Area 12, what was Area 12 is now Area 13, what was Area 13 is now Area 14, and what was Area 14 is now Area 11.
