National Glass Centre, St Peter's Riverside
The National Glass Centre was established in 1998 and maintains the long tradition of glass-making in Sunderland (although there are no longer any working glassmakers in the city). It comprises a museum and workshops concerned with all aspects of glass making and is now part of the University of Sunderland.

In the foreground, the riverside path forms part of National Cycle Network route 7, towards the eastern end of both the C2C and the Walney to Wear (W2W) routes, and also of the England Coast Path National Trail.
