Demolition of Former Police Headquarters (February 2016)
The former Greater Manchester Police HQ in Irwell Street is in the process of being demolished. The 1970s concrete building has been redundant since the completion of the new police HQ on the opposite side of Peel Way. Demolition work began in January and is expected to run until mid-June. This view is from Lower Bank Street.
