Remains of an old boathouse by Colney Hall
The remains of an old boathouse belonging to Colney Hall and marked on the first edition OS survey map for Norfolk dating from the 1880s. When the Colney House Estate was sold by auction on 6 September 1957, it is described in the sales catalogue as "Attractive Boathouse built of brick with a tiled roof and centre channel and gangway and Large Rooms over". (Reference: Norfolk Record Office BR 184/931). After a day of heavy rainfalls the river has burst its banks and flooded the adjacent meadows, which form part of a conservation area.
