SJ4166 : Above the Sorting Office Door opposite Chester Station

taken 13 years ago, near to Hoole, Cheshire West And Chester, England

Above the Sorting Office Door opposite Chester Station
Above the Sorting Office Door opposite Chester Station
The large building opposite Chester Station was once the Post Office Sorting Office. The date over the front door shows that it was built in 1912. Some years ago the sorting office was relocated in Hoole, and this original building has been redeveloped. It seems astonishing that at some time someone has smashed through the stone pediment to fit a drainpipe - before the recent re-development.
