NY9923 : Eggleston Bridge and Hall

taken 8 years ago, near to Eggleston, County Durham, England

Eggleston Bridge and Hall
Eggleston Bridge and Hall
The view from the right bank of the Tees towards Eggleston Bridge, which according to Pevsner [Buildings of England - County Durham] is of uncertain date and could be medieval. The hall on the bank beyond was built for William Hutchinson around 1820. Was a grand house like this built from the proceeds of lead mining?
