Pond at Chartershaugh
Pond at Chartershaugh
This pond is near the River Wear at Chartershaugh Bridge. Basically, it's just a flooded field with a shallow area of water which shrinks dramatically in dry weather. However, when it is flooded, it is very attractive to birds and is well known to the local birders. Generally referred to as "Lampton Pools".
