Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne Bridge Crossing Queen Street
Opened in 1928, the Tyne Bridge carried the A1 trunk road or Great North Road from the south to Scotland which, at that time, ran through the centres of Gateshead and Newcastle. Since the A1 has been re-routed to the west of the city, the road has been re-numbered as the A167.
