All Souls Church, Blackman Lane, Leeds
This C of E church has a few interesting details, it was built by public subscription, at a cost of £20,000 in the Early English style as a memorial to Dr W. F. Hook, Vicar of Leeds for some 22 years and later Dean of Chichester.
It was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, "to stem the tide of spiritual destitution" in the area, and is the last church he designed before his death in 1878 his son, John Oldrid Scott, took over the supervision of the building.
The square tower is built to the north-west and was an Edwardian addition.
