Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester
Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester
This square - the heart of Manchester - was originally a clay pit, and was donated for public use by Lord Mosley in the late eighteenth century. It has long been a terminal for many of Manchester's bus services and has a rather untidy appearance, although this grassed area provides a respite for the crowd during a rare sunny period in the dismal summer of 2007.
