NS4177 : Cultivation marks: rig and furrow

Cultivation marks: rig and furrow
Cultivation marks: rig and furrow
This is the green area that appears on the right in a picture of an NS4178 : Old boundary. The cultivation marks are visible, in the present picture, as parallel dark lines receding from the photographer's position.

When following the old boundary from NW to SE, I had noticed that the area to the right (the south-west) of it was much greener than that on the other side, and that the green area was crossed by marks like these.

As I later learned, the marks are part of a large patch of rig and furrow cultivation that had been reported after being noticed on aerial photographs taken in 2007; see LinkExternal link (at Canmore) for the report. The present picture shows how they appear from ground level.
