Nature Reserve, Otterspool
Otterspool Park has an interesting history, it is an ancient woodland, which means it dates back prior to 1600 and the carriage drive through the Park once formed part of the bed of the River Jordan. The park had been left to grow wild since the demolition in 1931 of Otterspool House which had been built in 1812 on the drained tidal creek, the grounds housed many exotic trees and shrubs even held a small zoo. Work to clear the 13 hectare overgrown woodland and establish paths has been carried out by volunteers working with The Wildlife Trust.
