TQ3080 : Syria, Trafalgar Square

taken 9 years ago, near to City of Westminster, England

Syria, Trafalgar Square
Syria, Trafalgar Square
A scale version of a little piece of Syria came to London for a few days, a two-thirds scale version of the Triumphal Arch which stood at Palmyra for around 2,000 years until permanently angry ISIS/Islamic State/Daesh/ISIL blew it up in 2015. It is made of marble and was constructed using old photographs and fiendishly clever 3D technology by the Institute of Digital Archaeology. After three days in London it will move to other world cities, and perhaps end up in Syria permanently assuming the angry folk can be kept out.
