A379 climbing towards Hillhead
At some time in the mid-20th century, this road to the Dartmouth Higher Ferry was upgraded to be the A379, and the road to the Lower Ferry ceased to have that number. Presumably the excavation that created the wall and bank on the right dates from about that time.
