Precariously placed walker at Ashes Quarry
Precariously placed walker at Ashes Quarry
Ashes Quarry is a disused excavation just to the north of Stanhope. There are two sections to the quarry separated by a 'causeway' of rock and ground over which passes a public footpath making its way by the use of two iron bridges, one of which is seen in the image. The rock face at the western end of the eastern part of the quarry is seen too.
