"Not really – this is the large radome of the air traffic control. The upper part of the hillside has the large spoil slopes of the dhustone quarry. Below this the area covered with patchy gorse marks the site of earlier coal workings. The gorse fills the depressions left from the bell pits created to extract the coal. These pits are recorded as being worked from the 16th century, but there was doubtless earlier working as the coal outcrops at the surface. The area is classified as a scheduled monument, the description of which states “The coal mining remains at Horseditch represent the unusual survival of undisturbed early mining, and represent a remarkable and well-defined concentration of coal workings.”"
