SK5739 : A bend in the Nottingham Canal

taken 3 years ago, near to Nottingham, Great Britain

A bend in the Nottingham Canal
A bend in the Nottingham Canal
To the left the canal runs beside London Road to Meadow Lane Lock and the Trent. Ahead, it skirts the south of the city centre on its way to Lenton. The blue brick wall on the left is the remains of the abutment which supported a huge girder bridge which carried the Nottingham Victoria to Grantham railway line across London Road and the canal. London Road High Level station (of which nothing remains) was behind the camera.
