SK5339 : Wollaton Hall on a May morning

Wollaton Hall on a May morning
Wollaton Hall on a May morning
A zoom view from near the north entrance of the park. The Hall was one of the first grand houses built with the profits from coal mining, in the 1580s. Just think of the cost and difficulty of bringing all that fine stone from Ancaster in Lincolnshire in the sixteenth century.
