The Eastern entrance to Montacute House
The Eastern entrance to Montacute House
This shot taken from the entrance doorway shows what was originally the grand entrance court, and was itself entered by a large gatehouse (now demolished.) This was flanked by two surviving pavilions which can be seen left and right in the distance. The two columns topped by lamps are a much later addition.
