North out of Ynyslas
The tree is a windswept Monterey Cypress, Cupressus macrocarpa. The species was introduced from California in 1838. It tolerates coastal conditions: the sea is beyond the dunes, left. The telephone poles are leaning too. The wall, right, displays the beautiful smooth grey local stone.
