Stafford Services, Lorry Park
The Stafford (South) service area is located between junctions Junctions 14 and 15 of the M6 near Stone.
Granada originally proposed a southbound service area opposite the northbound one which was built in 1996, but for some reason it didn't go ahead and the southbound services were built three years later, approximately one mile further south. The services were designed by Blue Boar but built and operated by Roadchef as the company was sold before completion of the services in 1999.
The services are deliberately set well back from the roadway to allow for possible future widening of the M6.
