Harlech Castle
Harlech Castle is part of the "Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Harlech, Beaumaris, Caernarfon and Conwy (Gwynedd)" World Heritage site. It was an English castle, originally built by Edward I in the late 13th century. It has been the subject of several sieges and battles. In addition to the various Welsh campaigns it also featured in the Wars of the Roses and finally the Civil War, being a Royalist stronghold until well after the execution of Charles the First.
