Physical, chemical and biological weathering of a rock
Physical, chemical and biological weathering of a rock
This image was taken on the wave cut platform at the Seven Sisters Country Park with Flat Hill and Flagstaff Bottom in the distance. The image shows a rock that has been affected by physical, chemical and biological weathering. Wave action and chemicals in sea plus the action of molluscs have resulted in the pitted surface of this rock. All the depressions in the rock contain a living mollusc.
