Opened in 1842, Piccadilly is the busiest of the central Manchester Stations and one of the busiest stations in Britain, outside London. It serves routes to London Euston, Birmingham New Street, South Wales, the south coast of England and Cornwall, Edinburgh and Glasgow Central and routes throughout northern England in addition to the Manchester Metrolink light rail system.
