NT8843 : Twizel bridges (new through original arch)

taken 36 years ago, 3 km from Upsettlington, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

Twizel bridges (new through original arch)
Twizel bridges (new through original arch)
I took this photograph in 1983 shortly after the new bridge was opened to traffic. Only just got round to scanning the old transparency!
The old bridge is described well in the other photograph notes.
The new bridge is a portal frame in prestressed, post-tensioned concrete.
