Armagh Court House built in 1809 was the work of the Dublin-based Board of Works architect, Francis Johnston. His fee was a princely £27-6s-0d. The building suffered much damage during the Troubles being bombed by the IRA on a number of occasions. The worst incident was in September 1993. The building is still protected by high fences and entry is via a reinforced sangar to the side of the building.
